Star Design
Since its beginning in 1990, the name Star Design has become a household name in the entertainment industry as a full service lighting company setting the standard for entertainment lighting in the Pittsburgh region and across the country. Over the recent years, Star Design has branched out into several other areas of production services to streamline the event planning process for our clients. In 2017, the decision was made to launch Star Design Event Services (SDES) – a full-service entertainment production company offering sound, lighting, video and staging along with event design and management services.
Where does it come from?
From Star Designs humble beginnings back in 1990 to the present, we have always strived to use the best products and offer the most comprehensive approach to meeting and exceeding our clients needs. The majority of products used are in our inventory and are well maintained and certified. The Star Design management team consisting of some of the best individuals in the industry are on site to assure that every detail of your event meet your expectations.
What have we been up to?
Where do we start? The past 34 years have been a blur of special events, national entertainment concerts, corporate conventions, grand openings, sporting events, and the list goes on and on. In the Pittsburgh region, we have spent many years supplying services to theaters and entertainment venues. Some of the festival events that we have been involved in are Light Up Night, First Night, Jazz Festival, Regatta, County Fairs, and several Rib Fests. Locally, Star Design is probably best known for designing and lighting the B.E. Taylor Christmas Shows which upon Mr. Taylors passing have become the Feel The Love Shows. On a national level, Star Design has contributed to several corporate conventions along with many specialty and sporting events around the country. One of our favorite experiences was designing and providing the lighting and video for the Detroit Lions Halftime Show on Thanksgiving Day for two consecutive years. Great times, great memories, with many more to come!
